What is Expanded Cork?
Expanded cork, also called smoked cork, is a natural material made from the bark of cork oak trees that cannot be used for traditional cork stoppers. Instead of being discarded, this bark is turned into granules and steam-heated, which causes them to expand and naturally bind together—no chemicals required.
The result is a renewable, biodegradable material with excellent acoustic and thermal properties, offering both sustainability and performance in interior design.
